Our Deepest Fear
by Marianne Williamson

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?'
Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.

There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

I have known Dr. Reeder for approximately 25 years. She has been my colleague in various work settings. In our working relationship, she was an excellent mentor and leader. There was never a time she did not have her door open to me for a consultation, training and general support. Her approach was direct, firm and very supportive. I grew tremendously under her tutelage as a Social Worker. I am thankful to have had the opportunity to work with her on difficult cases and actually see firsthand her ability to help her consumers; as well as her peers. Dr. Reeder nurtured my clinical skills, recognized my intuition and knowledge and gave me the confidence to push myself to become a better clinician.

Dr. Mya Y. Little, Psy.D

Dr. Tashina Reeder is an exceptional therapist, social worker, supervisor, trainer and colleague. In my twelve years of knowing her, she has continually demonstrated her passion and unyielding commitment to the mental health profession. As a strong advocate and participant in the family empowerment movement, she devotes her time to providing quality services to families often underrepresented and marginalized within our society. Dr. Reeder’s God given gift of being genuine and compassionate to the needs of others enables her to easily establish a rapport with her clients as well as her supervises; while affording her the ability to build relationships built on integrity. Lastly, Dr. Reeder has a catching sense of humor, which further highlights her human side and ability to relate to her supervises and clients alike.

Dr. Dominique Vedrine, Ph.D, LMFT

Dr. Tashina Reeder is a wonderful person and therapist. I have worked with Dr. Reeder for several years. I find her pleasant, courteous, and competent in her work. She has excellent knowledge of psychology and addictions and can use her expertise with her patients. Dr. Reeder is a strong advocate for her patients and their families.

Dr. Syed Rizvi, MD

Dr. Reeder is a dedicated therapist and supervisor who helps instill passion for the profession in those around her with her patience to teach and mentor. Her years of skill in the field and her knowledge qualify her as a supervisor, while her compassion and cheerfulness make her a joy to work with. She is very warm, builds rapport quickly, and has the ability to make others feel comfortable. As her former supervisee, I always found her empathetic, open to questions and always able to provide sound insight and clinical expertise. Sitting in her office during individual supervision, I always felt heard and validated, while also thoughtfully challenged to view the clinical issue through a different lens or try a therapeutic approach not previously attempted. One of the most valuable aspects of these sessions, for me, was her ability to help me engage in a personal exploration of myself, my own life story, and how my experiences may be shaping my work as a therapist. She helped me to become more in tune with myself both personally and professionally.

Jessica White, MA, LPC

It is with great pleasure that I recommend Dr. Tashina Reeder. She has truly been an inspiration to me as a professional, competent supervisor, and personal advisor. She is patient, knowledgeable, creative and transparent. Her supervision style has helped me to become more observant and aware of my own biases as I support others. Dr. Reeder is highly skilled and sensitive to the inner workings of her clients and those she supervises and she is able to get right to the heart of a person’s guarded inner workings. Dr. Reeder is relatable and has a diverse set of skill that reaches across generations and cultural divides. She is an excellent motivator and is keenly aware of the barriers and roots of internal and external systems that prevent individuals from becoming inspired and achieving their best self. Dr. Reeder is trustworthy and one that I look to for both personal and professional advice.
